Once again; we are planning for confirmation classes for kids between 12-14year old in both churches (St. Luke’s and Argonne) if you are interested please contact the church office to discuss the details. I would like to ask Jackie Hurley to be in contact with Amy Kraus from Argonne church for a joint list.
I have seen Jackie emailed us some names; Thank you so much, please make sure we get all the names then we plan for classes.

Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contribution's workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. Thank you so much for all of you have work hard for this country. God bless you indeed; we are proud of you.

We are so glad that you are worshiping with us today online. Please stay connected with us during this time of social distancing, if you can, join us in person at St. Luke's  and Argonne UMC.

PROCLAIMING THE WORD OF GOD

Scripture Readings: Isaiah 53:4,5,6 ; 1Peter 2:19-25

Sermon theme: "Christ Suffered For You."

By Pastor Francois.

RESPONDING TO THE WORD OF GOD

Prayers of the People.

Lord of light, in the midst of darkness and fear, you call us to be a community of peace, love and hope. You remind us of the blessings we have and the opportunities to share those blessings with others. We praise and thank you for all these things and for your constant presence with us.

Today, as a community seeking peace and healing, we offer the names of loved ones who are struggling with illness, with loss, with feelings of alienation and fear. We name these dear ones aloud in this congregation that all may enter the prayer for these people, seeking your healing and hope in their lives. Lord, in your mercy... hear our prayers.

God we pray for those who have contributed for the economy of this country during this Labor Day. Lord, in your mercy...hear our prayers.

We pray for peace, love, unity and calm in each States of America. Lord, in your mercy...hear our prayers.

We pray for the church unity; we pray for the church leaders; we pray for all the bishops in United Methodist Church. and we pray for the up-coming annual conference. Lord, in your mercy...hear our prayers.

We pray for the up-coming confirmation class for the young adults. Lord, in your mercy...hear our prayers.

These things we pray in the name of your Son who taught us to pray saying...

Our Father, Who art in heaven; hallowed be Thy name.

Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread,

And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen

Offering
As we begin a time of offering our gifts and ourselves, consider the various organization, missions, and events that you are able to offer you time, talents, and money to during this time. The offering is a key part of worship because it reminds us that the God we have met this morning is a God on the move and a God at work in our world. Here are some links to click on that will direct you to several organizations that have online financial giving opportunities:

If you wish to make a financial offering by writing a check, offerings to both St. Luke's and Argonne should be mailed to the office at St. Luke's (301 South Lake Ave, Crandon, 54520) or dropped in the outdoor mail slot next to the side entrance to St. Luke's.

Gracious and Giving God,

in this time of pandemic and distancing

continue to use us and guide us
to care for your people.

All that we have,

all that we are,

and all that we give are because you have first loved us.

Bless all the work of our hands,

the investments of our time,

and the fruits of our labors,

so that we may embody and extend

your grace, love, and mission to all our neighbors.

In the name of Jesus Christ we offer ourselves and we lift up this prayer.

Amen.

GOING FORTH IN GOD'S MISSION AND LOVE

Closing Hymn :                                                           UMH#526
"What a Friend We Have in Jesus,"

Friends, Christ Suffered for you and me to be saved.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ,
and the love of God,
and the communion of the Holy Spirit
be with you all.
Amen.
