-Beloved of God, prayer is most effective when it isn’t something, we do every now and then, but when it’s a lifestyle we cultivate. To understand how to have a lifestyle of prayer, we can look at the example Jesus gave during His life on earth.
Mark 1:25

We are so glad that you are worshiping with us today online. Please stay connected with us during this time of social distancing, if you can, join us in person at St. Luke's  and Argonne UMC.

PROCLAIMING THE WORD OF GOD

Scripture PassageReading from the Old and NT Psalm 37:7; Romans 12:12.

Sermon theme: "Be Patient in Suffering,"

                        By Pastor Francois.

RESPONDING TO THE WORD OF GOD

Prayers of the People.

Romans 12.

God of love,
open our hearts to each other.
Give us the courage to resist oppression.
Help us protect the world from evil.
Give us the wisdom to see ourselves as we truly are.
Give us the vision to see you and hear your voice.
Give us the courage to answer your call
Grant us the endurance to use our gifts
for the purpose of your realm.
Work your transforming love within us
that we may know your will
and serve you with joy. Amen.
According to 1 TIMOTHY 2:1-4

Lord we Pray for those in authority and those under your authority. We pray for the U.S government, we pray for the president, national leaders, State leaders; City Leaders, give them wisdom and love to lead this country. Lord, in your mercy...hear our prayer.

We Pray for those in our family; spouse, children, parents, grandparents, siblings, and extended family. Lord bless our families, we count on you Lord, we pray for safety in our homes Lord, in your mercy...hear our prayer.

God, we pray for both churches Argonne and St. Luke’s; we pray for the pastor and his family, we pray for small leaders and small group members. We also pray for the coming virtual Wisconsin Annual Conference starting the month of October. Lord, in your mercy...hear our prayer.

God, we pray for our lives, jobs, we pray for our employers, co-workers as well employees, teachers/professors and close friends, Lord keep us safe from this actual pandemic called COVID-19. Lord, in your mercy...hear our prayer.

God, we pray for those who are on the road driving miles and miles going to work or to enjoy summer, God declare a safe driving. Lord, in your mercy...hear our prayer.

God, for many of us, we know this is a chaotic and tumultuous time. Everyday there seems to be a slew of new restrictions and public guidelines aimed at stemming the spread of the COVI-19, and people are so anxious. Dear Lord, we pray for those are living with the symptoms of the virus, we pray for the diabetes, we pray for those with cancer, and we declare a power of healing.  Lord, in your mercy...hear our prayer.

These things we pray in the name of your Son who taught us to pray saying...

Our Father, Who art in heaven; hallowed be Thy name.

Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread,

And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen

Offering
As we begin a time of offering our gifts and ourselves, consider the various organization, missions, and events that you are able to offer you time, talents, and money to during this time. The offering is a key part of worship because it reminds us that the God we have met this morning is a God on the move and a God at work in our world. Here are some links to click on that will direct you to several organizations that have online financial giving opportunities:

If you wish to make a financial offering by writing a check, offerings to both St. Luke's and Argonne should be mailed to the office at St. Luke's (301 South Lake Ave, Crandon, 54520) or dropped in the outdoor mail slot next to the side entrance to St. Luke's.

Gracious and Giving God,

in this time of pandemic and distancing

continue to use us and guide us
to care for your people.

All that we have,

all that we are,

and all that we give are because you have first loved us.

Bless all the work of our hands,

the investments of our time,

and the fruits of our labors,

so that we may embody and extend

your grace, love, and mission to all our neighbors.

In the name of Jesus Christ we offer ourselves and we lift up this prayer.

Amen.

GOING FORTH IN GOD'S MISSION AND LOVE

Closing Hymn :                                                           UMH#206
"I want to Walk as a Child of the light,"

Friends, Christ the Lord has called you and me. He has work for you to do. Just 'Be Patient in your suffering.'

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ,
and the love of God,
and the communion of the Holy Spirit
be with you all.
Amen.
